Hometown: Tampa, Florida
"Hello! My name is Steven Cifredo. I’m 22 years old and I was born and raised here in Tampa, Fl. First of all a HUGE Lightning Fan and Currently a barista in downtown Hilton Starbucks, I’ve journeyed through being a singer/actor for about 5 years. From being the lead singer in the band “Chemical Reaction” and performing in many bars and small garage bans style stages across Tampa, I gained 2 years professional vocal training and met many wonderful musicians. Also, getting to work with Jim Chambers, who used to work along side Maroon 5, was a great experience as he propelled me into the stage to sing my pop rock heart away to many people.
I’ve always been very attracted to music and entertainment ever since middle school. I was so shy at a point the only way I could speak to girls was writing poems and countless notebooks worth of songs that I still have today! Some of my favorite artists are Maroon 5(of course), Jason Derulo, Jay Sean, Michael Jackson and The Backstreet Boys. I’m a very big pop singer oriented person but I do listen to all types of music everyday as I blast my radio on the drive to work and everywhere else.
On this journey of 'In The Groove' I hope to accomplish making people across the city and maybe even most states smile and happy through our performance. There’s nothing more satisfying then seeing audiences enjoy a show and forget about the world for just a second as they become part of our own. To see the joy across everyone face is the reason I sing. Even when I act on my free time I love doing comedies since according to my friends I’m always making everyone laugh!
I’ve been singing for about 5 years and acting in small commercials short films for about 3 years. Unfortunately, as we started rehearsals for In The Groove my grandpa fell ill with congestive heart failure at the time. From then on every rehearsal we ended I would rush over to the hospital and comfort him and see how he progressed. He eventually passed away on October 7th at exactly 2:05pm as I still remember seeing him smile one last time as he left. With that said I dedicate my performances to him (Humberto Ferrer) and hope he watches me every day I take the stage and is extremely proud of the work we have all done as he loved what I did as a singer and even sang himself!
Look forward to seeing everyone out there dance and get IN THE GROOVE!!"
